The trail tool to rule them all

This tool is simply a must-have for building trails. It cuts benches. It slices through roots. It's a rake. It's a pulaski. I can seriously build a whole trail with this one tool. We recently bought a bunch of Shapeshifter tools for our trail association (FVMBA), and all their tools rule. But this tool rules them all: it's 4 tools in one. Narrow end: chipping roots and rock. Wide end: cut roots and move dirt. Pointy bits: rake. I have used similar tools from other brands and this one is a bit heavier and the handle is a bit longer - better for hulk-smashing all the things. Women and kids will prefer the lightweight version as the regular model is substantial. I recommend the round handle for easier access to the 3 tools mentioned above. But I recommend Shapeshifter to anyone who wants a well-made CANADIAN trail tool. You don't need food; you don't need a new bike. You need a Timberwolf tool.

Good for digging

Great for benching and digging, not great at clearing duff. The rake tines are very small and the overall size of the tool is relatively small as well. It digs and cuts roots very well, but wont replace a traditional mccleod for clearing duff, rotten logs, and other lighter materials.

Best trail tool I've ever owned!

This plus a standard light weight McLeod are a great combo. The timber wolf moves a small mountain of earth and the McLeod smooths it out. Highly recommended.

Like a mini excavator in your hand!

Both size Timberwolf tools were used this past weekend by several of our trail crew as we tackled ruts and shaped trail at one of our dirt bike wooded ride parks.
The clay and rocky ground posed no obstacle that wasn't overcome more easily than ever before. Even roots and the odd old stump were no match for the Timberwolf. The Timberwolf gets the prize as the number 1 tool to reach for from the NSORRA Trail team!
